Apart from its delicious taste, another reason why we love hummus is its versatility, it being one of the few healthy saucy alternatives one can add to meals or as part of a snack. And due to this flexibility, hummus can actually take many different shades of tastes.
Enter the Mirror Friendly Hummus Trio…

The following ingredients were used to make the Mirror Friendly Hummus Trio:
THE BASE:
The base, which is essentially equivalent to the traditional hummus:
– 240g chickpeas (1 can)
– 15g tahini
– 2 tablespoons water (Note: you can even use the water from the chickpeas)
– 10g olive oil
– lemon juice (Note: sprinkle to your liking)
– black pepper
Note: You can also add a touch of garlic.

This base was then split into 3 portions to make the hummus trio below…
THE TRIO:
The following ingredients were added to the “base” above:
1. BEETROOT HUMMUS
– 80g beetroot
– 2 teaspoons ground coriander
– fresh parsley
2. AVOCADO HUMMUS:
– 120g avocado
– fresh ginger (Note: we used 7g but modify according to your liking)
– 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
– extra lemon juice
3. SPICED CLASSIC HUMMUS
– 1 tablespoon cumin seeds
– 2 teaspoons hot paprika (Note: modify to your liking)

Step by step instructions in preparing the hummus trio:
1) Add all the “base” ingredients in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.

2) Split the “base” in 3 portions in preparation for further blending in the individual ingredients of the hummus trio as per ingredients list above.
3) Blend the 3 different types of hummus and enjoy your delicious rainbow! (Note: if you somehow manage to save some for later, it can be refrigerated for up to a week.)

Carbohydrates: 25g

Avocado hummus:
Calories: 364 kcal
Protein: 5g
Carbohydrates: 33g
of which fibre: 13g
of which sugar: 0g
Fats: 25g (Note: no trans fats in here)
Spiced classic hummus:
Calories: 178 kcal
Protein: 6g
Carbohydrates: 22g
of which fibre: 5g
of which sugar: 0g
Fats: 8g (Note: no trans fats in here)
