I recently asked my followers on my Instagram account to list the one and only food they couldn’t renounce. Interestingly the answers I received all had one thing in common – they were all protein-rich sources.
Whether it was eggs, chicken, fish or red meat, it’s no coincidence that protein was the common denominator.
And why isn’t it a coincidence?

Protein is the most satiating macronutrient, which means it helps to keep you feeling full and satisfied for longer periods of time. This is important for maintaining a healthy weight, as it can help reduce cravings and prevent overeating.
Additionally, protein is essential for building and repairing muscle tissue, which is equally important for overall health and fitness. The more muscle you have, the more calories you burn not only during exercise but also while at rest.
Therefore if hypothetically you were to only eat one food, protein would be the most ideal choice. However, it’s important to remember that a balanced and varied diet is key for meeting all of your nutritional needs.
So, whether you’re a bodybuilder looking to build muscle or just someone trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle, make sure to incorporate protein-rich sources into your diet.
And don’t forget to mix it up with other nutrient-dense foods, particularly vegetables (which are also satiating due to their fibre content yet being very low in calories) to ensure you’re getting all the vitamins and minerals your body needs.
To fitness with love,
Andrew
